Infinisource Benefit Services reaches 10 million COBRA notices milestone

21 December, 2017 | Press Releases

All notices processed with no adverse judgments or penalties

Coldwater, MI —December 21, 2017

Infinisource Benefit Services has a long history in the COBRA industry. The company began in 1986 as COBRA Compliance Systems, Inc., just after COBRA was enacted into law. The purpose was to simplify COBRA administration for employers, eliminating the need for each employer to manage the many notices and requirements associated with providing COBRA to employees and their dependents. Infinisource Benefit Services is proud to have recently achieved the major milestone of 10 million COBRA notices processed for customers without a single adverse judgment or penalty.

Although the COBRA law is over 30 years old, it still causes confusion for many employers. There are numerous required notices and tasks related to COBRA administration, and if even one of those notices is processed incorrectly or not at all, the former employee could bring legal action against the company with a strong case. COBRA litigation is common, and employers must have strong documentation to back them up. Failure to comply with COBRA costs large and small employers millions of dollars each year.

The 10 million COBRA notices processed by Infinisource Benefit Services have included regulations concerning open enrollment, eligibility, state continuation and USERRA. These processed COBRA notices have exceeded the requirements set forth by the Department of Labor.

“We are excited to reach this major milestone of 10 million COBRA notices processed without a penalty or adverse judgment,” said Jody Oliver, president and CEO of Infinisource Benefit Services. “COBRA is where we began, and although we have grown to include many other options for benefits administration, we continue to lead the way in COBRA benefits and administration for our customers.”

Partnering with Infinisource Benefit Services provides employers with complete confidence in knowing that their COBRA administration is being handled by top experts with thorough knowledge of the COBRA law and its myriad regulations.
